Guy J. Mozzicato

Founder, CEO and Managing Director

Guy Mozzicato served as President of Northeast Wood Products, LLC and is now the CEO and Managing Director. He brought to the company more than 30 years of diversified experience as an entrepreneur and senior executive in a broad range of businesses, both publicly and privately held. Mr. Mozzicato is a results-driven manager with demonstrated success in growing companies, acquiring technological capacity, developing markets, boosting sales and enhancing profitability in domestic and international arenas.

In the 1980s, Mr. Mozzicato sold his first business to renewable energy pioneer, Oxford Energy, an AMEX-listed company, and served as president of the subsidiary supplying fuel to the world’s largest waste tire-to-energy power plants. Under his guidance, the company increased value by focusing on production and transportation efficiencies and development of multiple end-use markets, including shredded rubber used in the cement industry and civil engineering applications. Mr. Mozzicato subsequently repurchased the business and grew it into one of the largest recycling operations of its kind, with sales across the US and in more than fifty countries.

In 2005, Mr. Mozzicato sold this business to RMD Americas, becoming partner and officer of a broad-based multinational corporation. During his tenure, the company grew into a vertically integrated recycled rubber producer with world-wide markets, coordinating and controlling the entire process — equipment manufacturing, raw materials transportation, product manufacturing, marketing and distribution — maximizing quality, generating efficiencies and reducing cost. In 2008, Mr. Mozzicato sold his interest in RMD to his partners and went on to form three regional recycling companies in Connecticut, New York and Puerto Rico, subsequently acquired by NASDAQ-listed LKQ Corporation. At LKQ, he developed successful recycling operations in Florida, Texas and Illinois.

Mr. Mozzicato attended Eastern Connecticut State University and has served on the board of key professional associations in his industry, including the New England Tire Dealers Association, the National Association of Used Tire Dealers, and the Rubber Recycling Advisory Council. He has also served as a director of the Northeast Connecticut Chamber of Commerce.
